The Way of the Digital Warrior was created to help people of all ages build tech confidence and learn effective technology and digital marketing skills—without overwhelm or pressure.
I believe digital literacy is no longer optional.
It’s a life skill.
Yet too many capable, intelligent people feel anxious or stuck online—not because they lack ability, but because no one ever taught them how the digital world actually works.
They were handed tools.
They were told to keep up.
And when they struggled, they blamed themselves.
That’s the problem this program exists to solve.
My Background in Digital Education and Technology Training
I spent over forty years teaching technology as an educator, instructor, and media specialist, working with middle and high school students across all learning levels—including special education and English Language Learners.
As the director of professional television production studios, my work earned national recognition for excellence in educational programming.
I later transformed a traditional school library into a high-tech digital learning hub, helping students develop real-world technology and media skills long before “digital literacy” became a common term.
The only known picture of me teaching!
But the defining moment came when I was challenged to create a course combining tool mastery with online safety that every middle school student would be required to take.
Advanced to struggling learners... I had to come up with a program that anyone of any ability level or background could complete successfully.
What emerged was a comprehensive, three-year program focused on:
- Cyber security and awareness
- Critical thinking in digital spaces
- Responsible technology use
- Practical digital tools for learning and communication
That experience reshaped how I teach technology—and who I teach it for.
It also taught me that anyone can learn tech skills... with the right approach and the right instructor.
Why Martial Arts Belongs in Technology Education
For over twenty years, I’ve trained in Tae Kwon Do and Hapkido, earning my 4th-degree Black Belt Master certification which included teaching self-defense alongside positive mindset, focus and discipline.
Martial arts taught me something traditional that tech education often misses:
- Progress happens in stages
- Skills are developedthrough practice
- Awareness and safety come before speed
- Confidence is built—not forced
When I applied martial arts principles to teaching technology, students didn’t just learn—they understood... and applied it.
That approach became the foundation of the Way of the Digital Warrior.
